Bone Density

Bone Density testing is recommended for any patient 50 years or older who have broken or fractured a bone or as screening for women  65 years and older 

Bone Density testing helps to screen for osteoporosis, a condition where the bones become weak or brittle

Procedure takes about 30 minutes to be completed

The Bone Density procedure is much like that of an X-ray, the technologist will assist you onto the exam table, where you will be instructed on how to position yourself on the exam table to obtain the best picture possible

When it ‘s time to start the Bone Density you will be asked to keep as still as possible, as the arm attached to the exam table will move over your body to start the scan 

Once completed, you will be assisted off the exam table and requested to stop by the front desk to schedule your follow visit with your provider
